interlocking

Most unprofessional, rude, and poor service. The project was started over 6 months late even though they committed to 3 weeks. Their customer service provided 0 service, however they were rude and refused to assist. The employees swore at us upon completion of the project. The work once completed was shoddy. One might as well hire prison convicts for their home, their service would likely be better. Never again.

Interlocking

First let me say that when we originally talked to the sales rep he was willing to come over as many times as possible to close the deal. After the deal was closed I asked him to come over to make some adjustments on the contract and he had the audacity to say "are you going to pay me for coming over there again?"
Anyway the interlocking was done fine. The problem came after when waiting for someone to come do repairs. One of the problems we had was that the stones used for the steps wouldn't stick and when they came to correct the problem, unannounced would walk into our backyard when they were supposed to call first, look at it then someone would lift the loose step and another person would squeeze out some glue, then they would leave after being there for a few minutes and obviously not checking if there were other loose stones. So instead of doing the job right and spending a few more minutes there, they came a couple more times, same story, come in, put glue then leave. Needless to say they never stuck and when someone would walk on the step the stone would give way underneath your foot which would cause you to slip and fall.
So then this new person starts answering the phones who is totally unreasonable and shouldn't be talking to people especially customers. Strings us along the whole summer saying someone will come and fix it and yells and insults us on the phone. So the summer went by and nobody came even though we were still under contract. Not only that but she didn't seem to care that this was a safety issue and that people were slipping on the steps. I imagine if this person is talking to people then they will get more complaints, because she's not truthful and will tell you things that aren't true, and will treat you like garbage. So no I don't recommend them, at the beginning they were ok but not at the end, and that's the most important part.
Did I mention that this person, who I assume is related to the owner, since she has the same last name as the owner, was very rude and disrespectful, you would think she would care more about the company but I guess not. Also last year when I did speak to the owner himself, he said he would come by personally on the following Saturday to look at it himself but never came. So horrible customer service. They never had any intention of sending somebody over. We were met with hostility and rudeness. Person will yell at you over the phone and won't let you get in a word edgewise. So nuf said. Check with the Ministry too, they have some filed complaints.---------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Happy to say that company came again and fixed the issues we had. Steps are safer now. Person who was dealing with customers last year not answering phones anymore; which is good for everybody.

Company Response

Hi Allan

I have talked to the repair crew on several occasions regarding your steps. As u say we came over on several occasions to repair the steps. It's a very minor repair so it does not take any more then a few minutes. The problem is that every time I sent a crew over to fix the steps you or someone from your house would walk on it before it had a chance to dry. I've bent over backwards to make u happy. I came over several times as u say. I went far beyond the call of duty yet u still complain. As far as the person being rude to u. For that I'm very sorry there is no excuse for that. Email me directly and I'll get the crew out there first thing in the spring to fix it. But please give it 24 hours before u walk on it.

gregg@loctiteinterlocking,ca

FYI all of the complaints at the ministry have been taken care of. I really can't understand y u r trying to hurt my company over something like this. It obvious that I'm trying to make u happy. Judging how many times I came to fix it.

Loc-Tite Interlocking

We hired Loc-Tite last May and today they completed the job. We waited a long time but we have to say it was well worth it. The interlocking looks truly beautiful and professionally done !! Greg you and your crew did a great job !! You were all very friendly, courteous and thoughtful. If you are looking to have your property landscaped we recommend Loc-Tite, it's worth the wait.
Greg and crew, thanks for a job well done.

Walkway

I have recently had Loc-Tite come to do some repair work on work they did for us last year.
First, the down side of this company is they are not good at time management. Even taking into account weather delays, three weeks should be three weeks or at least keep the customer informed. Be more accurate with your time estimates.
The price is very reasonable. I had quotes ranging from 2800 to 6000 for essentially the same product. It came down to two companies and Loc-Tite won out with the price. Both were in the middle range of the pricing with same material and time frames.
I was in no rush as I was going away for several weeks vacation anyway, so that it took longer than told to get started wasn't a big deal for me but I can see how some people would get frustrated with it. A call to say they wouldn't be starting in the three weeks would have been appreciated. In the end, the work was very well done and far better and less expensive than the work I had done previously with another company. That company is gone with the wind I might add.
This year, I needed some repair work done to the stairs as there had been some settling over the winter and wet spring. I was told it would be up to seven weeks for them to come. Not the greatest but I was given a thorough explanation as to why it would be that long. The receptionist, I don't recall her name, was short on the phone but more a no nonsense, direct approach than rude.
Six weeks later, Gregg and a crew showed up and got right to work fixing the steps. They did an excellent job and I'm quite happy with it it. I asked for some pointers as I had an area of interlock (done by the above noted missing company) which had sunk and created a tripping hazard. He started to explain what I needed to do to fix it. I'm sure that as he saw the look of fear in my eyes he decided it would be faster to just fix it for me and had in it done in no time at all.
I have just had Foti stop by and give a quote for some work at the front of my mother-in-laws house. She signed to have it done as she was impressed with Foti and the price was within her expectations based on work she had done in the backyard previously. Of course it will be started in three weeks?? but this time he did add weather permitting. If weather doesn't allow them to get started he will call her within the three weeks to let her know it won't be until spring. A better assessment of time than with my job. I would recommend Loc-Tite if you want a quality job and I'm sure they are working on the time management issues.

Driveway and backyard interlocking

I also experienced the delay of completion of the work but I am not complaining because my neighbour had the same experience but in the end its a great workmanship. They had their interlocking for 4 years now and they have no complains. For me its worth the wait. Work that lasts is more important to me. The work done to my driveway and backyard was amazing. I will definitely recommend them.

Landscaping

Like many of you before starting my landscaping I looked at the reviews for Loc-Tite and they were very good. I am fortunate my work has now been completed and I can only say that Raymond and his crew did a fast and excellent job...my place is beautiful and on the basis of the quality of work completed I would recommend this company.

I do feel it is important for Loc-Tite to learn from what occured this summer. While appreciating the season started later than usual due to westher, and there were issues with labour as well they still needed to have a better plan...maybe in future they should not take on as many customers so early in the season and then for 'both' of us it would have been far less frustrating and stressful. Changing your front end office staff was one of the smartest things they did...Chantel was a pleasure to work and communicate with; it felt like she got things moving.

I learned a lot from this process: 1) I will read the fineprint/back' of contracts carefully before signing and make the necessary adjustments/changes "I want', 2) I will not 'sign up' for such a big and expensive job without actually meeting the owners, and 3) I will not rely and trust a slick 'sales' force who is really only interested closing the deal.

Backyard Interlocking

Do not use Loctite unless you have a lot of time and patience to spend to harass them to come complete their job. Their sales guys are not worried about how many projects they book in a year, all they want is to secure as many jobs as they can.

I am very happy about the sub-contractor who came out to finish the job. If you are looking for someone in the same ball park to do some landscaping get a hold of Patrick.

Patio interlocking

I have issues with the service I received from this company.
To summarize them:
1. General workmanship
2. Wobbly steps
3. Depressions in the interlock patios
4. Not doing the square footage listed on the contract
5. Finding out at excavation time that what the salesman offered me could not be done without incurring an additional fee or exposing my foundation’s waterproof membrane
6. I feel not enough supplies (triple mix, polymeric sand) were used to finish the project properly
7. I feel clean-up was inadequate: gravel was left on the neighbour’s property, backyard door was not put back up, debris was left on the lawn, grass was damaged, cement was mixed in our downspout splash guards and the cement was left to cure there afterwards
8. Many interlock tiles shift when we walk on them
9. The delay
10. Inability to discuss the situation with the company for several weeks despite several attempts

Interlocking

I paid deposit June 22, and was promised that work will start in 3 weeks. After 3 weeks I called David and to company multiple times. How many voice mails I left? I reported to police.
In between I read reviews - so many negative reviews for the summer, so many frustrated people. I wanted to cancel - no replies.
Yesterday they started excavating - with no notification (close to the end of 3 months by contract , right?), I would stop and couldn't as was working at Mississauga. They did excavating not exactly as was in plan, plus damaged cable box, - I asked I want to see manager or owner.
When I came home, the gravel guy came. I was surprised and asked some explanation what is going on. He didn't know, just pointed that different crew was working and he is not responsible.
I sent email to company, they threaten me to take extra cost as I'm stopping the crew from work.
Finally I've got call from the office - was explaining that I don't want this job, was promised to be contacted by owner and still waiting.
If I'm in Canada? Never was having these issues before for all 12 years being in Canada . So many great services , great people, good quality jobs.
I want to be over this nightmare sooner better.

Interlocking

Hi Everyone,
I didn't know about this site and I wish I would have know about this sooner. I am so upset and beyond my wits end about this. I paid a deposit in July and as of Sept 15th, 2014 they have not started the job. The cold is coming quiet fast and from what I have been reading the company starts the job as they within the 90 days (as per the wording on the contract) but they don't complete it. How can we get our money back on this now? A lot of you are in the same boat as me. Any suggestions will be helpful.
