Kitchen Designers Plus No Longer In Business

John from KDP provided us with excellent service. From his initial drawings to delivery and installation. The Elmwood cabinetry was what we had hoped for. Thank you to Frank who did the installation, professionally done, clean and courteous.

While we have a fabulous family home and phenomenal neighbours, I was relentless in moving. I felt our 20 year old home was dated and beyond a makeover. My husband suggested having a kitchen/bathroom/floor make over, worst case scenario, it would only add value to our home. We sourced 3 kitchen design companies, and I have to say, that from the 24 hour turnaround time, to the vision of the renovation, to the execution and delivery, Kitchen Designers Plus, clearly rose above all others. John Vanderkolk was in touch with me within 12 hours of sending the email, he was at our home within 24 hours, and the vision I had in mind was electronically produced within one week. I told John what was important to me, and he encapsulated every last detail. In fact, he had ideas, that I had not even thought about. John, not only designed the kitchen, but he assisted us with interior designs that matched our home, from picking floor tiles and backsplashes, assisting is with picking complimentary granite and of course the lighting.

What I didn’t mention already, is that we had six weeks to execute the project. From conception to design to visitors coming from abroad, we had a zero margin for any problems, and of course, during any reno of this scale, there are problems.

I have to say though John handled every obstacle with professionalism and solvency, even two weeks into our project, when I had a brain storm idea to knock out a wall!! It happened!

The entire experience, Frank, our installer, Elmwood Cabinetry, the amazing contractors, Concept Lighting, Tiles Plus, Homewood Suites (who looked after us for four weeks) and the many other people who were involved in this project, made my dream come to reality!

Our kitchen was approximately 20 years old and needed updating. We visited a number of kitchen companies, but decided on Kitchen Designers Plus because of the cooperation and "no pressure" sales tactics offered by John. In addition, John worked very closely with us to ensure all our ideas were incorporated into the final design. John's innovative thinking was also appreciated. The concept design pictures were extremely beneficial in helping us envision the final outcome. The reno's including gutting the complete kitchen, including removal of bulkheads, flooring throughout the kitchen and hallway and construction of a new wall to make the new kitchen more functional. The crew took exceptional care in protecting other parts of the house from dust and debris during the demolition process. In terms of installation, Gino and his crew did a fantastic job installing approximately 800 ft2 of travertine tile. Their workmanship ranks extremely high versus other tile jobs I have seen or been involved with. Needless to say the final product looks superb. Paul, Bruce, and Frank did a great job installing the Norcraft custom maple cabinetry and custom crown molding. They all took great care with the installation and each of them had very high expectations of the workmanship and final installation. Lam and his crew did an exceptional job cutting and installing the granite counters. They also did a great job ensuring the fit was to perfection in all areas. Last but not least we would also like to recognize Rob who executed all of the electrical work. He did an exceptional job coordinating all the electrical work around the other trades including 2 new cable runs (50 amp service) from the panel through a finished basement with drywall ceilings. Rob was also very in tune with our needs and adjusted the positioning of new lighting fixtures to satisfy our needs. We are extremely pleased and excited about our new kitchen! We would recommend Kitchen Designers Plus to anyone considering a new kitchen or a renovation of a kitchen. Excellent design and excellent finished product. We found John from Kitchen Designers Plus to be very responsive to our needs and requests from the beginning of the project (design) to the end. Our Elmwood Cabinetry is beautiful. There installer Johnny was extremely good at what he did and we would hire him again. We are very pleased with our new Kitchen.

We were very confident with the completion of the initial design and drawings including some ideas that were not initially under consideration but made a challenging layout really work much better. It game us more cabinets and a much more useable kitchen. The end result is a kitchen that works extremely well based on design ideas and the schedule was maintained which was extremely important even though we made several last minute changes. Would recommend using John to any friends as he was able to keep all of our criteria in mind and provide very helpful advice. We are thrilled with our new kitchen!

We wanted to get our original 1970s style kitchen into the new century, and after meeting with several companies, decided on Kitchen Designers Plus, and their Oakville location. We based this on face to face meetings, along with other reviews we read, and an overall sense we got from meeting with Kelly.

Kelly walked us through all the design options, from overall look/design, options for cupboards, backsplash, lighting, floor, countertop, electrics and all the extras available. No pressure tactics used, we were presented with the options and made the decisions on a step by step basis, using Kelly's design expertise to assist.

The install started on the day it was scheduled, and work was completed on schedule, no delays, and no budget over run. We were impressed with that, having had others tell us of renovation horror stories! We were provided updates by Kelly and project manager Joe on a regular basis, and felt comfortable in discussing any issues or concerns we had with them.

At the final review, we did notice a cracked tile in the backsplash, somewhat hidden, but as we did see it, the team took the time to remove the tile, take a new tile offsite to drill and replaced it (glass tiles can be tricky when drilling).

They ensured we were completely satisfied with the work, and we felt like we were fully supported by the entire team (installers, electricians, plumbers and the management team).

Great team to work with, and we are completely satisfied with the results, and again, the people on the project were exceptional!

Attention to detail and customer satisfaction best describe the superb work of our design consultant Kelly McLay at Kitchen Designers Plus, Oakville. Kelly and her team took the time to truly understand what we were looking for and happily guided us through every step of the project. Exceptional quality, excellent time lines, and ongoing communication demonstrated their desire to make our dream kitchen a reality. I would without hesitation recommend Kelly and her team and would rank our experience a 9/10.

Our kitchen was renovated by KDP 8-10/2011. We love it. Pat was very helpful in designing the kitchen cupboards and set up and coordinating the contractors. They listened to what we wanted and made any last minute changes as we went along. The project started and finished on time. The men and women doing the work were very pleasant to have around. The quality of the cabinets and hardware is great. The project came in on budget. Follow up to adjust and repair things has been timely.
