Bob Steele has worked with us for over 15 years and is the the most knowledgeable painting contractor we have had the pleasure to employ. His expertise in the composition of numerous paint types and methods of application sets him apart from other contractors. His attention to preparation produces for a better final project.

Bob and one other of three quotes came very high...but our gut instinct was to take a leap of faith and give him the job based on how long and meticulously Bob took to inspect the job. We have a 1917 built single detached 2 story brick home: the plaster in the stairwell to the 2nd floor was ripe with wallpapered cracks & bumps, ceiling on the 2nd floor was peeling and parched for attention; and the process of selecting the right colours was itself a puzzle still to be resolved. Bob works alone, is an artist looking, not only for cracks on walls, but cracks in decision making as to what colours will best compliment the patient he is to operate on; what tones can be carried from room to room in order to tie in aesthetic continuity; Bob is no fly by night artisan as we've once experienced on our outdoor paint work...he is a true guilder artisan, an artist of colours and a cosmetic surgeon who in the end transformed our old and tired house into a fresh and happy sprite. good on you "Academic" Professor Bob

Reviving a 2 bedroom condo that hasn't been painted since the late 80s. Bob not only brought new life and colour but was able to go from "we like these kind of colours" to the colours we were looking for. His skill and experience and advice can be seen from room to room to room. Always able to accommodate. A definite recommend.

The title of the company tells the whole story - Guild Painters. The owner was professional and supportive in every way - exploring new colours, what work needed to be done, repairing old and damaged surfaces. He was very personable consistently made sure that I had the time and opportunity to choose the colours and new baseboards that I would love. All of the fine tuning was done and the house looks beautiful. I love the new colours and really appreciate the tender loving care my house recieved.

Bob is a true wizard! He has a superb eye for colour & keen decorating style - perfoming magic on any home large or samll. Most recently, he was literally my lifesaver, orchestrating a complete renovation of a 2 bedroom condo. His dedication to the total completion of this task was a major factor rresulting in a quick sale at close to asking price. In over 20 yeears of associaiton with Bob's workm I wulddn't let anyone else touch my walls! Super guy too!

I have had the good fortune to have known Bob Steele for over 20 years. During that period he has carried out a number of decorating projects for me. No only is he completely reliable but his work is excellent. He has excellent creative ability and therefore is able to provide solutions to any decorating project. I was introduced to Bob some years ago by friends who had used his services. His work is top quality and he is exceptionally helpful when it comes to choosing colours. In addition, he knows how to fix anything, so the end result is perfect.

My 90 year old home has the original wood windows/porch and cracked crooked plaster interior walls/ceilings. It required the TLC of someone who appreciated her history, respected my wishes to repair rather than replace and had the knowledge of how to do the job.
I found Bob on Homestars and after reading the excellent recommendations and meeting him in person I knew that Bob was the man to paint my house. The interior was done last year and the exterior has just been completed. I am so pleased with the results.
In addition, because Bob could not ignore additional work my house needed, he made some repairs to the front porch, secured a loose pipe, stained the front door and installed shutters all within the original budget. This all came with free gardening advice that was very much appreciated.

Bob Steele has been our painter for at least the past 10 years - for projects as small as $300 to large jobs up to $3500. I wouldn't dream of hiring anyone else! He's painted every room in my house (some twice!), some papering, as well as the outside porch, deck and garage. He is fabulous at helping with colour selection (and trust me, we have given him several challenges as my daughters and I love to experiment with colour!!!) He also does excellent wall repairs (my home is 90+ years old), electric fixture installations, picture and shelf hanging, deck repairs, etc. etc. - whatever happens along in the course of a decorating project. I have done numerous renovations over the 25 years I've been a homeowner and have had nightmare contractors so I know what I'm talking about! Believe me, Bob is a cut above the rest - he is VERY easy to have working in your home: honest, reliable and dependable, and the work is always done on time and at the price quoted. He takes pride in a job well done. Bob Steele is an absolute pleasure to work with. I concur totally with what Mike and Deana say above. And he even gets along with my yappy dog!!!
