Moving Company

Great Canadian Vanlines was a dream! They were kind and personable and so trustworthy and reliable. They went above and beyond for me and just took care of everything. I would never again go with any other moving company. I have had lots of experience with other moving companies and it is a known fact that some of them are not trustworthy. Great canadian was. They had nothing but my interest in mind. I HIGHLY recommend using Great Canadian.

Company Response

Hi Jenny,

I spoke to your Moving Consultant (Phil) and he mentioned that there were afew complications on your move and that we were quick to respond and take care of the issues. He also mentioned that you came by the office and dropped him off a nice bottle of scotch for all his help - what a treat!

Thank you

We had to write to tell you how thrilled we were with our wonderful move from Toronto to Courtenay, B.C. Your company did a perfect job. The Toronto crew arrived on time. There were two different gentlemen in charge.. One was named Ali, and I'm sorry but I can't remember the other gentleman's name. Both were very professional, introducing themselves to us, shaking our hands. They answered all our questions. All of the other members of the crew also introduced themselves, and everyone was very friendly. They were extremely efficient and fast, and did a great job loading up our furniture. The delivery crew in Courtenay were even better. Larry was the gentleman in charge, and his crew were Mike and Ron. They were just as professional, efficient, and fast as the Toronto crew. They all introduced themselves and were very friendly. They put carpet runners down throughout the house, and put everything exactly where we asked them to. We were very satisfied with the delivery. What we found truly amazing was the fact that absolutely nothing was missing, and absolutely nothing was broken or damaged in any way. Thank you very much for a perfect moving job! We have sung your praises to all of our family and friends, and would not hesitate to use you in the future, or recommend you to anyone we know.

Things went well. I was very happy with the service from GCVL at every level and would easily recommend GCVL to friends. This was our third cross Canada move and GCVL was the best of the three movers we used.

Moved my belongings from Toronto to Vancouver

I was very impressed with Great Canadian Van Lines from the very first call I made to inquire about their services. They were professional, answered all of my questions and concerns, sent me a quote via email immediately and made the moving process so easy. They have a price match guarantee (which wasn't necessary- they gave me the best price) and were extremely reliable. I had some odds and ends that needed to be packed last minute, they were prepared with packing tape, boxes and tools to help with the larger items I couldn't pack myself.

Total Home Move

We ended up in a short timeframe move scenario, which was causing tremendous stress. However, from the initial call to GCVL to the timliness of the crew arriving at our home to begin, NOT ONCE did an issue of stress arise from dealing with this moving company. The booking was easy, and the crew that came out were incredibly friendly, courteous and professional. I know this shouldn't matter, but even their appearance was beyond what I had seen from other moving companies, and was incredibly encouraging. The guys honestly seemed eager to help, and completed the task under what we had expected for time. In fact, we were so pleased that we encouraged them to stay and join us for a pizza dinner...and we had a great time!
There is simply no question I would recommend GCVL for anyone's move, and they have my business for life.

5 moves over 10-years

We have used Great Cnadain Van Lines for 5 moves now between vancouver and Toronto since 1998. Their service has been friendly, courteous and always on time. They have accomodated special needs like multiple location pick up and deleivery with never a complaint. The most recent time they couldn't get the truck past a tree blocking the driveway so they went away, packed our stuff onto a smaller truck and came back the same day and delivered our stuff. No questions asked. We will use them again for our next move for sure.

move across country

Great Canadian Van Lines moved me twice in under a year. They were hassle free, inexpensive, and quick movers. In the first move, two items were damaged which I claimed. I was so happy with how quickly they handled the claim, I decided to use them for my next move a year later to the other side of the country.

Moving

Great Canadian Van Lines moved our household from a 5 level house in Lions Bay to a remote site near Merritt. They arrived in Lions Bay on time and rolled out carpets and runners to protect the floors and stairs. They carefully and cheerfully carried everything up and down stairs and up the brutal driveway. I nervously watched them wrap my piano and gently move it. They packed lamps which I had been unable to do, ingeniously and, again, cheerfully. The next day, they found the Merritt site on time. They quickly unloaded all our furniture and goods into the one level house and unpacked it all, carefully completing a checklist as they went. At the end of it all, the bill was actually less than the estimate! We had superb service and it cost less than was quoted. I heartily recommend Great Canadian Van Lines.

Estate move (smaller scale)

The crew picked up the contents of my moms condo in Coquitlam BC and transported it to Calgary to a storage facility. They were exceptional in wrapping some very precious memories for me and also in taking great care with some antique furniture. I was impressed with the speed in which they got the job done and everything was executed perfectly with timing and the transportation as I still needed to drive back to Calgary from BC to receive my goods.
It was a real delight to have a team who came in did the job no complaining and knew what they were doing. Thanks again Great Canadian Van Lines.. I would hire you again if needed! Isobel Rankin
