One house fixed from outside and Rod Plug repair on a different house
I find it very interesting that someone who has never recieved a quote from us is recommending that people get another quote. The person who wrote this reveiw had our warranty transfered over to him by the previous homeowners and thus was not present during the estimate or subsequent job. The job consisted of waterproofing the block foundation and seal plate of a crawl space (approx. 35 ft.). It was clearly explained to the original owner that there could be a problem with the weeping tile and we would replace it within the 35ft. section where we were waterproofing the walls but if the rest of the weeping tile was clogged there would be additional work required. After excavation was completed and the condition of the weeping tile confimed to be inadequate this point was again reiterated with the original home owner. The owner had no interest in doing the additional work to correct the weeping tile so no quote was given. She recieved a 25 year tranferable warranty on the walls and seal plate. There was a problem reported to us by the new home owner with water entering the crawl space under the door seal. As this was covered under warranty we dispatched a service man promptly who corrected the problem. A few weeks after this we were contacted by the genetlemen in question complaing about water coming in from the floor level. I personal told him that there was an issue with the weeping tile and additional work would be required to correct the problem. I gave him two options: 1)continue the replacement of weeping tile out to the street or 2) Install a sump pump in the crawl space to tap the 35ft of weeping tile which were already replaced into. He seemed more concerned with getting us to dig up the original area that we had waterproofed ( which would have solved nothing) then actually getting a quote from us to fix the problem. We then had Gord and a workman come out on a weekend to dig out a section just to prove to him that we had replaced the weeping tile in the area where we had worked and show him the problem with the weeping tile in the area where we had not. He must have understood because upon arrival he declined to have us excavate. It is obvious that he got his answers, additional work was needed in order to correct the drainage for the weeping tile. The genetleman in question seemed more concerned with getting us to solve the problem for free or getting the previous home owner to pay for the work then actually getting a quote to repair the problem. It is a unfortunate situation that the original homeowner left him. I'm glad that he had the weeping tile issue corrected but as of date he has neither recieved of requested a quote for the additional work required. Our policy on weeping tile is clearly explained at the time of the quote. As this person was not the home owner and thus not present when the quote wss given he was obviously not aware of the possibilty that additional work may be required. This is the first "complaint" that the company has had in a almost 30 years of service but considering the circumstances there was not much more that we could have done. We provide quality service and workmanship backed by a 25 year written warranty. I have hundreds of references avaliable upon request. Call for your free estimate today!
