A Nightmare
signed contract with Ecopainting to do exterior of house....work was supposed to start at beginning of July, they delayed the start until October. We had concerns about the exterior being painted due to the temperature but were assured it would not be a problem. Work was delayed constantly due to cold temps and rain; also, painters did not work on weekends, the only days in that month it seemed to be warm enough and sunny. One worker became pregnant and schedule became very erratic; because she could no longer climb the ladders, owner and workers would often show up after noon and only work for a few hours. Then the owners mother in law passed away and he didn't work for a week--after that the weather warmed a little but because he didn't 'work weekends' he wouldn't paint on those days. then it became COLD. It was November. We stressed again how concerned we were for paint adhesion due to temps, they said it would be fine. most of the work completed in mid November--back of house and one window sill left unfinished through winter. Newly painted surfaces started peeling in the winter months; company had to repaint in the Spring. Even then we weren't considered a priority.
The next fall, paint started peeling again. Had the company come back at which point they told us there was no surface guarantee on 'trouble areas' on the exterior of our house-a term that they had never mentioned before,or written in our contract. They never said we had 'trouble areas' until their work was faulty. We know FOR SURE they painted our house when it was too cold outside and we are left to deal with the problems. Owner very disagreeable and does not stand behind his work. Only offered to repaint the 'trouble areas' for a charge (not a cheap one, either!) Take your money and RUN SCREAMING in the other direction, to another painting company.
