An excellent job from start to finish. Derek's team were in and out like snot. They were efficient, professional and cleaned everything up at the end. The value for the money was excellent and I would use them again as well as recommend them to others.

We called to have a large maple in our back yard evaluated after losing a lot of branches in the ice storm in Dec. and still had several broken branches just hanging. We were worried branches could come down and cause injury to our or our neighbours property. We decided to have the whole tree removed. They removed the tree in less than an hour and had everything cleaned and the large logs cut and stacked on the curb. I was very pleased with the job they did.

After calling countless other companies, Derek was the one and only to respond. Derek's team was quick and professional. They cleaned up everything and even skimmed the pool.., Highly recommended!

Overall, I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Bob and his team at Derek's Tree Service. We had some trees we wanted removed (some damaged by the ice storm), and they came on time, were extremely efficient and friendly (speaking with our neighbours about the noise and assuring them that their property would not be affected) and handled cleanup of our property as well as any debris that had made it onto our neighbours properties, all at a price I was happy with. I Contacted Derek's Tree Service for removal of some trees on our newly purchased home. Right off the bat, I received a prompt response with a very rough estimate for the job with a promise that an estimator would follow up (some other companies on homestars didn't even respond to my inquiry or were extremely difficult to get a hold of). A few days later, I was contacted by Bob, who arranged a time to come by and give us a quote. He was on time, pleasant to deal with and gave us his honest opinion on the job we were asking him to do (we ended up taking his advice and leaving one of the trees we had originally intended on taking down).

Anyways, we decided to go ahead with the service and scheduled the time for the job to get done. Bob and his crew showed up on time, and got right down to work. They finished the job much faster than I thought it would take, and took extra care throughout the whole process. Was impressed with the cleanup effort as well, as they took extra care to clean up both our property and our neighbour's properties. Would definitely give these guys a call if I need any further work done, and would recommend them to anyone looking for any sort of tree services.

I contacted DTS via their website and within a few hours they had emailed me back. We then spoke on the phone and in day we had set up the job. Derek outsourced to one of his local people (Robert's Tree Care) who did a great job. Small trees are actually harder than large ones, because instead of using big machines Bob had to get dig these out manually. After 30 minutes of chainsaw, axe, shovel and brute force, Bob had removed two small trees that were blocking our bay-window. He then raked up the mess and used a blower to clear away the rest. Great job!

I met Derrek for the estimate of thinning back the canopy, by a third, for two trees (including the removing one very large limb on one of them). He let me know two days before the work was to be scheduled. He and his crew did an excellent job at a fair price. They were very quick and trimmed two other trees at no extra charge. All was cleaned up very nicely and he even left me a few fire logs. I found him very professional and knowledgeable. I will recommend him to my neighbors and family. Thanks so much Derrek – I have more sunlight reaching my backyard and the problem limb is gone.

Had Derek remove a large dead tree from my backyard and also trim and tie up some cedars that had been bowed over in the ice storm last winter. Was very satisfied with the price and the efficiency of the crew. The job was completed quickly and there was no mess to clean up afterwards. I would have no hesitation in recommending Derek.

You get what you pay for in terms of expertise, attention to detail, willingness to go the extra mile. No written contract, not even a business card. Next time I will follow my instincts and go with the professionals where quality and timeliness are paramount. I wrote a cheque to "Jacob Tree Service' so maybe Derek's Tree Service INC sub-contracts. No recommendation here.

We had a large branch overhanging the house that was becoming dangerous. We called a number of companies that encouraged only a partial solutions. Derek and his crew expertly removed the large branch and trimmed numerous other trees quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up the yard and the road where they chipped the branches.
