Pull out sofa

This is the second time we have purchased a sofa from the Chesterfield Shop in Mississauga, after my parents recommended them (they also purchased 2 sofas a number of years ago). The customer service we received both in store, and to set up delivery has been fantastic. They were very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Our newest sofa will be delivered on on wednesday and we are very excited. Thanks to Earl for helping with the delivery process.

Parts Replacement

We love the leather sectional with motorized recliners that we bought from The Chesterfield Shop in 2010! When our basement was flooded recently, we saved the couch from the water but one of the power supplies that controls the reclining feature was sitting in water and stopped working. I called and left a message for Earl who called me back the next morning. He sent a complimentary replacement to the Mississauga store (which is more convenient for me) the next day. The gentlemen in the store were very friendly when I picked it up and wished me "many happy reclines". The power supply works perfectly and we are very happy with the service from The Chesterfield Shop. Thank you!

Custom sofa

Worst customer service experience ever. We ordered a couch from the mississauga location the first week in february with a timeline of 4-6 weeks given to us. After repeated promises of "next week", we were told that the manufacturer had gone out of business. It was then re-ordered and delivered EIGHT weeks later, but wouldn't fit through the door. I spoke with a man named "Earl" (he refused to give me his last name) who spoke with such disdain and disrespect, not even letting me finish my sentences, treating me like I was an imbecile Want to cancel the entire order as these people are rude and deceiving. Do NOT recommend this place for your next purchase. I plan to tell as many people as possible about the poor customer service.

sofa parts

This store is so friendly and very helpful In find me the parts I needed to repair my sofa. Earl went above and beyond what he had to do for us. I know my sofa was old and I didn't expect them to find me my parts but Earl did. Many many thanks to you and your team.....Jim Rowe (A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER)

custom home furnishings

Very personalized and attentive service. The selection is amazing and the quality of the furnishings is excellent. The delivery service was excellent and very careful not to damage our home or the new furnishings. Our home looks fabulous. We furnished two rooms with unique colours and styles.

Loveseat

I bought a love seat two years ago and I got a lemon. The Good: it was North American made, had great colour choices, was modern design, and is beautiful. The Bad: there was the first delay of a couple of months, the second delay of a couple of months, no contact from the company to inform me or give me an explanation, I went to the Dufferin location to speak to the office and they are less than professional or organized, 3 months after finally getting the love-seat a button pops off so I call, they lose my request for service until I call them 6 months later, I finally get it fixed. When the repair guy comes to fix it, I ask if its normal that the seat cushions are flattening so quickly. He said it shouldn't really be (though it's a couch I use for hours every day). He orders me new seat cushions and they are better foam. Months pass, and 2 more buttons pop off. I didn't call for the first button, but I called for the second service fix, the factory sends the wrong colour buttons which is only discovered at the service call. I send a swatch of fabric with the second button request. The people who called from their office have horrible phone manners, there are delays, lack of follow-through. I'd give the office staff a rating of 2. I don't know what to say - I have had great luck with couches so far in life. I usually buy Canadian (since Canadian couches are known to be worth the quality) and this one is USA. My 15 year old couch is better than this one: I'd rate the quality of this loveseat as a 4.

They have excellent fix-guys. I would give them a 9 or 10 - polite, efficient and always on time. Joe was in this past week to open the back of my couch and put in all new buttons and deepen the tufting (since it was flush with the surface before). He tightened the legs and the couch is ready to go. Klaus was here before and he was great - got the seat cushions, ordered new buttons, and affixed them.

Interesting that HomeStars does not have an option for the customer to address what the company says.
1. My timelines are about bang on.
2. I currently own 6 couches in use in my home - none have flattening cushions like this one does.
3. The office staff lost my bill of sale - couldn't find it when I was there at the office, and the office manner is not what you can expect from a professional organization. My first request for button fix was lost for months. How is this professional? When the company calls, they don't even identify who is calling - instead demand who they are speaking to. Do you tape your calls? Take a listen.
4 . I stand by my review or I wouldn't have written it. Their response (below) makes me decide to never buy from there again.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate all feedback, whether it be positive or negative. I am sorry that you are not having much luck with your purchase. This style has been sold countless times, and we have not had any other reports regarding buttons popping off. It is for this reason that we replaced not only the buttons that came off, but all of them as a precautionary measure. Foam breakdown is quite normal - with regular cushion rotation this can be avoided. We have a record of all contact with you, and show that the timelines you mention aren't quite accurate. We apologize that the factory sent the wrong parts - a situation that was immediately rectified. Our office staff is exceptionally organized, and on top of requests at all times. The delays you experienced were mainly due to slow factory response times. We do our best to keep our consumers informed as we receive information. We hope that you are now enjoying your furniture, and remind you that we offer our 5 year service warranty (at no charge) in the event that you experience problems with your purchase.

sofa upholstery

I own 2 Chesterfield Shop couches that are less then 8 months old. The upholstery on one of the couches is already starting to wear because it is the couch which is most often used. The back of the couch has all kinds of snags and the material is fraying. Every morning and evening I lean on this part of the couch to open and close the drapes, plus throughout the day I lean on it to look out the window. The company blames the problem on either a cat or dog. The cushions material is knotty where your legs overhang. The constant friction from your leg onto the material has caused the material to pill along all three cushions. They too blame this on an animal rubbing up against the material. The other couch, which is rarely used is in good condition. I'm told by the company it's because no animal rubs itself up against it. I don't own a cat and the dog knows not to go on the couch. My last couch lasted 20 years and I had no problems with the material.

At no time did the salesperson say to me that the type of fabric I was choosing would easily snag or pill. There are no samples of this fabric on any of their couches in the store (I wonder why).
I've just recently purchased (from another company) two couches to replace these awful looking ones from Chesterfield shop. This time I made sure that the fabric we chose was on one of their couches on the display floor. That way I know that the material was able to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use.
You know Chesterfield Shop, your salesperson should let customers know that some of their fabrics can't withstand the wear and tear of every day use. My couch is only 8 months old. It should still look good, but it doesn't.

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your sofas. Our technicians report and accompanying photos show pet hair, and the damage to the fabric has been caused by animal claws. You have advised our service department that although you don't own a cat, you have family members who bring theirs in to your home. All covers shown on our floor, or in sample books are subjected to rub tests before being offered as cover options. No fabric or leather is impervious to animal damage, and the condition of the second sofa is a testament to the quality of the cover you chose. We fully stand behind our products, and our thousands of satisfied patrons can attest to the quality and selection that we offer.

Custom Sectional Sofa

We should have read all the dozens of poor reviews online before purchasing the sofa. When we got into the store at Kennedy, we spoke to Victor, the sales person. He was very nice and very helpful. We wanted a sectional that would stay nice and firm, we made is clear that was our top priority. We finally picked out a sectional and Victor promised that we will get the FIRMEST cushions possible because this is the quality of the product. After we finally got our couch (it was delayed for weeks) we noticed that the cushions started to fall through. After 2 weeks of mild use we are no longer able to even sit on it! It is soo uncomfortable because we are falling into the gaps between the cushions. I called the customer service, got some rude person but finally managed to get an independent appraisal gentleman to come in. He agreed the cushions are very soft and said that he will advise the shop to provide new firm-er foam. A week later we get a call from Victor saying that if we want a better foam we need to pay extra $50/cushion! We paid $3,000 for a sectional couch we cannot sit on and now pay more??? Victor had the nerve to claim that he explained to us that there are two types of foam – regular(same price) and firm (extra$). When we were in the shop, he NEVER even mentioned various foams and charges associated. This company is not giving people all the details and later the customer has to pay moer! Beware that whatever the sales person is telling you will NOT be what you will get!

Thank you for your comments. There appears to be some misunderstanding or miscommunication in your comments. Custom orders do not have a specific delivery date, and are subject to the availability of raw materials,. We do our utmost with the factories we deal with once the raw materials are in. This is clearly stated on all invoices. You did in fact receive the firmest foam that the factory provides, and in the technicians report he stated that he explained that to you. He did not concur that the cores were soft. The comfort of foam density in cushion cores is relative to each individual consumer. If you wish to have specialized foam cores from an outside source, there is a cost. Because you felt that this was not explained properly to you, we generously offered to split this cost with you, and further we offered to absorb the cost of the labour to customize your sectional. We provide all the information that we can, and will happily answer to specifics when asked. Our thousands of loyal and satisfied consumers will attest to our integrity and efforts to satisfy all consumer requests.
