Laura is a true professional. She's honest, caring and straight forward. Laura reviewed the proposed layout we received from another designer for our main floor renovation and she advised us on the missing design and structural information that should have been included given what we had already paid. Laura was able to provide us with a clear understanding of the specific steps required to go to permit and more importantly the specific costs to do so. She outlined everything leaving no questions unanswered. Laura was a real pleasure to deal with. A designer like Laura who truly has her client's interests at heart and her client's budget at heart, is a designer that is very hard to find. The design industry needs more Lauras.

Recently we had Laura visit our home to provide a 1 hour consultation to discuss our intentions for renovating our home.

What was to be a discussion about "plans" turned out to be a talk about the "vision" we had for our home.

Laura asked us a number of questions which we had yet to consider which resulted in us deeply analyzing what we wanted out of our house and how its potential redesign would work for us far in to the future.

I would highly reccommend taking advantage of her expertise at the very least as a sounding board for your renovation plans. We just bought a new house and need to transform the space to meet the needs of our growing family.
We hired Bravehart to help us with Planning and Construction advice, space planning Design and Construction.
They are very knowledgeable, helpful, reliable and we would not hesitate to highly recommend them to others.
The connection between an experienced Space Planner like Laura and a person like Bill with engineering background, who knows how to remove walls and work with structure, is extremely useful to new home owners like us.

After moving into our new home, we wanted to expand into the basement. We choose Bravehart building and we have never regretted it. The quality of the work is very high, every detail, especially the things that you do not see yet are absolutely essential in a basement (such as managing water drainage, depth, structural integrity), were carefully looked after. The result is a fantastic basement that really adds a whole new story to our house. It was only after the fact that we truly appreciated the quality of Bill's work, particularly once we learned that our neighboors on both sides who both live in newly built homes have had water problems in their basement. After this we have always turned to Bill and Laura whenever our almost century old home needs some TLC. Our children's bedrooms, roof, bathroom, AC/Heater and water heater are all much better following renovations done by Bill and Laura.

We hired Laura at Bravehart for our home extension plan. Phase 1 of the budget and planning opened our eyes with many different ways to build. Laura took the time and effort to understand and assist to many different design challenges and budget constraints. At the end we did not proceed with the project, however, if in the future we need any other renos or design needs, we are sure to give them a call.

Bill designed and constructed over-sized single garage, on time, on budget, workmanship outstanding. Included solid concrete pad, framing, siding, finishing, electrical, powered door opener, three windows, and full electrical. Superb.

We are currently going through a complete renovation of our 2-storey home – a top to bottom, inside and out full gut. We enlisted Laura Pollard of Bravehart to help us with the design, which we are so very pleased with. Laura is very passionate about design and thoughtful about incorporating good design with functionality. She really takes the time to learn what your wants and desires are and challenges you to see what your home can become in a collaborative working process. Through this process, she came up with different visions and designs for us to consider. When faced with a tough decision, she will go above and beyond to help you make the decision so you are comfortable with the outcome. For example, choosing a stucco colour from the book of mini samples was a challenge for us. She took our final choices and had larger samples created so we could visualize it better. Having Bill Wallace at the table during the design phase was also very helpful as he was able to point out what can/cannot be done based on the design and within ones budget right at the onset. The privilege of having this knowledge at the design phase helps to save time and money in the long run. People say home renovation is a very stressful process; Laura and Bill have gone above and beyond to minimize that and we are truly enjoying the process and excited for the outcome!
