Empire Kitchen did an amazing job
It’s been 15 years since I have lived in my house and I finally decided it was time to do something about my kitchen. After visiting several kitchen remodeling companies I was impressed with Empire Kitchen. The fact that I was not pressured and at the same time Harry and Reman was always available to answer any questions and giving me ideas was wonderful. I spoke to Harry and Reman and they both visited my house and gave me some quotations. He promised to have the kitchen done by a specific time and was on time with the delivery. The kitchen looks Amazing! It is Show-Room quality. This company had the ability to take any ideas and create the details in the layout and design of the kitchen, the cupboards, the trimmings, moldings etc. I am very pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend Empire Kitchen and Doors.

Contacted Harry after a friend recomended him for my new kitchen, from the begining we had a connection, the patience that Harry had demonstrated is superb, since I can never make up my mind on the style of doors I wanted, the color of stain nor countertop to choose.
Then the project got started;
The experience I had with this company is absolutely wonderful, everybody in that company is very respectful and considerate and my concerns were allways satisfied.
This kitchen was very important to me, and they knew it.
I recomend Harry and all the personnel of Empire Kitchens very highly, you won't be sorry.

Probably the worst experience I have ever had with any trade (and I have done many renovations in my life). I contracted with Domani Kitchens who I later learned subcontracts all its work to Empire who builds and installs as well. Domani seems to be just a selling machine. Oscar of Domani and Harry/Sammy from Empire could not keep a promised date and never effectively kept a date they promised. A one month job took 7 months.

Oscar of Domani was pleasant enough when we eventually talked but he produced no results. Promises of delivery were made over and over again and dates passed each time. He refused to return my deposit each time we talked.

Sammy from Empire was another story. The untrue stories about everything, like "it's built and we're just putting finishing touches" lost their meaning after awhile. I then insisted on visiting the plant to confirm the unit was in production. I was surprised that he would meet with me only to state that construction of the unit had really not begun. Then another guy Harry took over (although we never actually spoke). He was always out when I called. I only spoke to the receptionist for the last 3 or 4 months who relayed messages to me. They attempted to deliver and install even though the units were incomplete and then threatened me with $500 delivery if they came again and could not install. They insisted on cash on delivery, for which I was given a receipt. The design was very good however, the units once installed were inferior. The doors now hit each other, the paint is cracking just a few months after installation. They did not build it right either with the drawers smaller than specifications so I can't put legal files in as planned. They never returned to put on the handles nor install shelves so I have had to arrange for that work to be done myself. I still owe them $1000 and hope they sue me for it. This is the worst experience ever. Interesting enough, the person who recommended Domani to me is also having huge problems with these guys as well. I would not recommend either Empire or Domani unless you are looking for a lot of aggravation and poor workmanship.

April 6 2009- Two days after I post my review, Sammy sends me an email threatening a lawsuit unless I remove my comments. I wish his customer service was as fast as his threats.

April 20, 2009- I just read Sammy's response, which is incorrect and ridicluous. I never signed anything acknowledging that the job is complete. How can a customer be satisfied with a bookcase that has no shelves or handles to open the doors? The library bookcase also had no handles to open drawers or doors and the file drawers were built too short to hold legal files as planned. Interestingly, Sammy has not yet attempted to call me to correct the situation but rather, he finds the time to assert his absurd arguement.

July 17, 2009 UPDATE- Haven't heard from Sammy since my last update. Still using my cupboards without handles. On my next update, I will provide pictures of the unit. I have been in contact with 2 other customers who are equally upset. Anyone who rates Empire as a 10 must be a relative of the the owner! Existing kitchen island not functional. Wanted to create a gathering space along with fuctionality in the kitcen, ie - sitting area , food preparation. Also improve the effiency of the kitchen with respect to clean up and food prep. Add a sink and install dishwasher.

I read with shock another review where a client had to take this company to court just to get some relief. We just received judgement against this company with the Brampton Superior courts, Claim # SC 05 3992-00 in the amount of $7000, enough the judge said, to have our cabinets refaced. We contracted out Empire Kitchens August 2007 and had the new cabinets installed in December. They were missing doors, kickplates and needed many adjustments. After numerous phone calls, we were told every excuse: the truck broke down, his guys quit, family emergency, etc. Finally, On June 30th, 2008, we decided to take this matter to court. When the man who represents himself as the owner, Sammy (who isn't by the way~we found this out though examinations)was personally served by my husband and myself, he told us that our timing was horrible, and he didn't need this right now and asked when we wanted our cabinets fixed. my reply was "how about 6 months ago when you were paid in full". Now, while i'm happy about getting judgement for half of my kitchen, actually garnishing proves to be another issue. After spending huge amounts of money in PPSA searches, business searches and MTO searches, we were saddened to learn that we cannot put garnishment on his house as it is not in his name, his vehicle is leased and he is not on payroll. A business search pulled up 2 operating names: 1) Empire Kitchen Cabinets and 2) AEmpire Kitchen Cabinets. Very sneaky...in order to even do an amendment to our claim to add/edit the business names is another $50 to $100 dollars. I will no doubt pay it. If that doesn't work, I will be contacting Government Auditing agencies, media and anyone who will listen. Please, Buyer Beware... Do your homework First!

This was our first kitchen reno. We selected Empire Kitchen because of quality and workmenship. We are quite pleased with the results. We spoke to Sammy and he visited our home to give us some guide lines and quotations. We also visited their show room and based on that we selected Empire Kitchen and Doors to renovate our kitchen.
The granite top was cut and installed by Dea Marble.
We loved how the ceiling to floor pantry turned out. Most of all the Rosewood on Maple turned out to our expectation.

This is further to my review, previously I rated it at 8, but the two points were not for the workmanship or quality but for the very slight delay. We know that Sammy is a very busy man, but should make himself more available during projects.

We had some friends this past week-end and loved the layout and the quality of work. The rosewood on Maple stain turned out to be exceptionally gorgeous. Excellent workmanship on the pantry.
Would definetly recommend Empire Kitchen and Doors.

we wanted to renovate our kitchen and ended up choosing empire kitchen cabinents to do our kitchen renovation. in a few weeks our kitchen was all ready to go and be installed. but we had to get the tiles done first. so after the tiles were in place, in the next few days our cabinents were up on the walls. any small problems that we had were fixed and left us completly satisfied.

I found Empire kitchens through a flyer I received in the mail.
Sammy came out and designed a new kitchen that we really liked.
The kitchen was ready to install in 6 wks. We had a few problems but they were fixed in a couple of days. I still have a few things that need to be replaced but Sammy is waiting for me to complete my
backsplash before he can complete everything. Overall the kitchen looks great. I would definitly recommend Empire Kitchens on there design, value, and service. Sammy and his employees did a good job. The only issue I had Sammy, is sometimes you are a little hard to get a hold of.

I am writing this review as we approach the final steps of the custom redesign, construction and installation of our kitchen.

1.) We received 4 written and one verbal quote from Kitchen Renovating Specialists. Each provided a computerized drawing of their suggested design(s)for our view and a quote as to what was included in the price and what was not. This also included a written start and estimated completion date by the two highest dollar value quotes.

2.) The precontract discussions we had with 'Sammy' and staff of Empire Kitchens provided both worthwhile and exceptional ideas.

3.) We decided to contract with Empire Kitchen Cabinets and Doors based somewhat on price (the quote was mid-range) but also on the character of the representative (Sammy), the cabinetry and millwork viewed in the Brampton showroom and the fact they manufactured both the cabinets and doors so the range of sizes and designs was not very restrictive.

To date the cabinets and associated millwork have been installed and are beautiful, fullfiling our dreams of a 'showpiece like' fully funtional kitchen in an open concept with the adjoining family/entertainment area.

4.) I should mention that all required trades (electrical,gas fitter, plumber, etc.) arranged by 'Empire' were fully licensed to work in Ontatio.

5.) At this time there are still some final touches, touch-ups and adjustments to be completed. I will update this review and include pictures once we have signed off on the record of completion.

6.) Our friends, relatives and neighbours who have visited recently all admire and speak glowingly (and with the odd touch of jealousy) of our 'new' house.
